ICICI Direct offers various order type, VTC Full form is Valid Till Cancelled orders are the order type where you carry forward your limit orders for 45 days.
A limit order is an order where you place buy or sell order at your desired price. If you met the price on the same day, your order gets executed else it will cancel. You need to enter the same order again for the next working day.
But with VTC order, your order will remain open till 45 days with buy or sell limit. Your order gets executed only when your stock reaches your desired price. You can modify your limit order or cancel your limit order any time. With this, you don’t have to do any manual tracking of your order every minute or every day.
This is the best feature which is missing in Zerodha or Upstox who are a key player in Discount brokers with the in-house trading platform.
