No, you don''t need to give any proof. All Shares are linked with your PAN number and the registrar will take care of that process.
does shareholder''s holding in SBI matter? for instance, can someone who owns just one share of sbi, apply for 5000 shares of sbi cards.

No sir, in case you are holding 1 share of SBI or any number of share of SBI, you are considered as Shareholder. For allotment also there is no relationship with how many shares you are holding. Allotment is going to be done on proportionate basis.

But if more people apply in shareholder category, will allotment be to satisfy all applicants first before proportionate allotment happens. In such a case, residual shares may not be there for exact proportionate to happen. So at higher levels, allotment may be much smaller than application amount. I read DRHP and its silent about this finer details.

Hello Amit Sir, There is a major difference b/w Ujjavan SH quota and SBI SH quota. In Ujjivan Bank, the allotment was done proportionate subject to minimum Bid Lot, in such case each shareholder got a minimum one lot, but in SBI Cards case it is only proportionate basis. So if you apply 1 lot, there is a chance you will get partial share and if you apply 13 lots you are going to get 13 X partial share equivalent of 1 lot.
