Review of SME IPO Lead Managers performance by comparing success and failure on the IPO listing day. The report shows the total number of SME IPOs that were handled with different lead managers, as well as the number of IPOs that were listed at a premium or discount.
Every SME company that goes public must first appoint a merchant banker or lead manager. The Lead Manager is the main intermediary who prepares and processes all key IPO documents such as DRHP and RHP, and ensures due diligence compliance. He also evaluates the IPO demand in the market and sets the IPO offer price. Therefore, selecting the right merchant banker / lead manager with a good profile and a solid track record is critical for a positive listing of SME shares.
The report shows the performance of IPO lead managers, including the total number of SME IPOs managed by a merchant banker along with the positive and negative listings. Here positive listing means IPO shares were listed at a price above than the issue price and negative listing means IPO shares were listed at a price below the offer price.
Note: The above lead managers' performance report is prepared taking into account SME IPOs listed at BSE SME or NSE EMERGE platforms from 2019 onwards. It does not includes SME IPOs listed during the period from 2012 to 2018.
