Zerodha Console Review 2023| Charges, Top Features, Login process

In 2014, Zerodha has launched its back-office platform for the first time called Zerodha Q where all the reports were available but later in 2018, the broker has replaced the Q platform by introducing its latest back-office reporting dashboard Console with multiple features. The platform is an updated back-office tool to access reports like tradebook, ledger, P&L, online IPO investment, and get complete portfolio holdings information.

The console is Zerodha’s latest cost-effective back-office platform to enable users to track all their trades, P&L, and check all the debits and credits of funds in their account statement. It is the best platform due to the following reasons;

• Cost-effectiveness as no charges is levied.
• View portfolio holdings (equity, mutual funds, and commodity) and positions.
• Get all the reports in one place on the console.
• Check the funds debit and credit history of your account.
• Withdraw funds and check previous funds withdrawal details.
• Check graphical presentation of all trades, P&L, etc.
• Single login credentials for Kite and Console.
• Integrated with Zerodha Kite trading platform.
• Refer Zerodha account to others and get a referral commission.
• Gift stocks, ETFs, and bonds to your friends and loves ones.
• Become a part of the Zerodha 60 Day challenge to win a certificate of profitable trader.

• Log in to the Kite.
• Under the menu option, go to the “Console” option.
• On the top, click on the “Funds” tab and tap on the “Statement” option.
• Select category (equity or commodity) and date range for which you want to check fund transaction summary.
• Once done, the details will be available, click on the “Download XLSX” option to download the report in excel.

Any Zerodha client can check the historical P&L summary of their trade transactions on the Console through following below process;

• Log in to the Console Zerodha back office.
• On the top, under the “Reports” tab, click on the “P&L”.
• Select the segment, date range, and then submit it.
• P&L details for the specified period will be available, click on the “download” option at the top right side of the table to download it.

Contract note for all the segments i.e. equity, currency, and commodity are available on the Zerodha Console from where users can download it.

Steps to get the contract Note in Zerodha Console:

1. Log in to the Console Zerodha back office.
2. On the top, click on the “Reports” tab.
3. Now, select “Downloads” from the drop-down menu.
4. Enter category (equity, commodity, and currency), date, and report type (PDF, XLSX, SML) and press on the “Download” option.
5. The report for the specified date will be downloaded.

Tradebook provides a complete summary of all the trade transaction details on Console. It can be downloaded in an excel spreadsheet as well as CSV format. Here is the process to download the Zerodha trade book on Console:

• Log in to the Console platform.
• On the top menu bar, go on the “Portfolio” tab.
• Under the drop-down, tap on the “Tradebook” option.
• Select the segment, enter the date range, and submit it.
• Once done, the complete trade history will be available.
• On the top of the table, both the download XLS and CSV options will be available, click on the respective option to get the trade book.

In November 2020, Zerodha has taken another initiative by launching a stock gifting platform on Console where users can gift stocks, ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), and gold bonds to their friends, family members, and loved ones.

Steps to gift stocks in Zerodha on Console:

• Log in to the Console.
• Tap on the Client ID and click on the “Gift Stocks” option.
• It will redirect you to the Zerodha stocks gifting page on Console.
• Now, enter the gift recipient’s name, mobile number, e-mail address, and then press on the “Continue” option.

• Select stock/s that you want to gift and enter quantity, and then tap on the “Confirm & Send” option.

• Once done, the recipient will receive an e-mail and SMS with the details of the gift.
• The recipient needs to log in to his Zerodha account to accept the gift. Once accepted, the sender will be notified through e-mail and SMS to verify the recipient details and approve the transfer of the stocks by entering CDSL TPIN.

Zerodha has launched a new Tag trade feature on the Console dashboard reporting tool to allow users to tag the reason for trading in a portfolio holding or position. Here are the steps to use the Tag feature on Zerodha Console;

1. Log in to the Zerodha Kite and access the console platform.
2. Tab on the “Portfolio” tab and click on the “Tags” option.

3. Click on the “Tagging” option and now you can tag the trade of your choice.

A contract note in Zerodha is a legal record of all the transactions. It represents complete details of all the transactions for a particular period including date, price, time, quantity or no. of shares traded, etc.

Zerodha sends an electronic copy of the combined contract note for all the trades including equity trading on BSE and NSE, equity F&O trading, and currency trading and a separate contract note is sent for the commodity (MCX) segment. Contract note is password-protected document. Enter your PAN card number to access it.

Recently in April 2023, Zerodha has introduced virtual contract note on Kite that displays the charges for all the orders placed during the market hours. You can check it in the “Orders” tab on Zerodha Kite.

Zerodha users can add or link their family members' account with their account. Here is the process;

1. Login to Zerodha Kite>Dashboard>Holdings>family.
2. Click on “link a Sub-account”.
3. Fill in the required details such as sub-accounts Kite user ID, PAN, and mobile number.
4. Click on “Continue”.
5. Then the sub-account holder will receive a verification SMS on his mobile number and he has to authorize it by clicking on the verification link. The link expires after 2 hours, if missed you have to reinitiate it again.

Zerodha Zpin is a 4-digit unique numerical ID or support code for every Zerodha client, available on Console.

Steps to find Zerodha Zpin on Console:

• Login to the Zerodha Kite.
• Access Zerodha Console back office platform.
• Tap on your “Client ID” and under the menu, click on the “My Account” option.
• Here, on the top, a 4 digit support code will be available, tap on the “View” option to see the Zpin.

Console is the Zerodha’s backoffice reporting platform that provides all types of reports and analytics of trading and investment activities. The platform provides multidimensional insights of your trades and portfolio, in-depth portfolio breakdowns, P&L statements, tax-ready reports, etc.

The console is the back office platform by Zerodha at where clients can access and download various reports such as portfolio holdings, positions, transaction reports, profit & loss, and others.

To log in with the console, follow these steps;

• Go to the official website of the broker.
• Login with Kite by entering your Zerodha user ID and password.
• In the right-hand side on the top menu, go to the user ID and click on “console”.
• You’ll be directed to the Zerodha console dashboard where you can view your portfolio and download reports.

Zerodha provides an online fund withdrawal facility to its customers through its console back office platform. You can withdraw money for free.

Steps to withdraw funds from Zerodha account on Console:

1. Login to your Zerodha Account on Kite.
2. On the top menu bar, click on the “Funds” tab.
3. Now, tap on the “Withdraw” option.
4. Enter the amount to withdraw within the withdrawal balance limit.
5. Fund withdrawal requests placed before 8:30 PM (Equity) and 8:00 AM (commodity) will be processed on the same day, however, after the stipulated time, the request will be processed the next working day.
