Geojit Financial Services, one of the most famous brokerage house from Kerala have strong PAN India presence with more than 550+ branch office network. Geojit is still lacking behind in technology for opening instance/paperless trading and demat account. The Company still believing on branch network to open a new trading and demat account in offline mode.

To open a new account you need to submit the physical form with all required documents which include PAN, Aadhar, Address proof, photo and bank statement/personalize cheque. After receiving the filled form, the company will verify your KYC, and complete KYC related formalities. A welcome kit will be shared with you on your registered email address.

After receiving a welcome kit, you can log in on SELFIE Mobile app, SElFIE Gold – Web version or SELFIE Platinum – Desktop software of trading app. You can transfer fund online via net banking, Payment gateway, NEFT/RTGS or deposit a cheque. Once you load your margin money you can start trading in Equity, Derivatives, Currency, Commodity and Invest in Mutual fund. Geojit also provides free equity research to its customers, so you can get free access of Gejojit research platform. Geojit has a strong presence on international location for NRI customers. Investment in IPO can be done via ASBA process (Net Banking from your Bank) using Geojit Demat Account number. The company also provides Mutual fund research.

Is Geojit Good and Reliable Broker?

Geojit, Company is still focusing on Traditional broking business, where other competitors started investing heavily in online broking business. On Technology, new Trading platform SELFIE is really good, but still account opening process, investment on online client activation is not there. Offline account opening process is time-consuming. On customer support company is dependent on the branch network, so online customer doesn’t have clear access to information and services. Geojit Online brokerage is cheaper than its close competitors which is plus point. The interest is higher for margin funding where other brokers are charging 18%, Geojit is charging 20% PA. For Traders, the company is not giving big exposure/ leverage so that’s negative points for traders who love to play on high volumes. Overall big brand name in the traditional brokerage business, but not competitive for online investors/traders.
