You can use either CDSL easiest or gifting feature to transfer securities i.e., shares, mutual funds, and bonds to the minor demat account. Gifting is a comparatively very easy way to transfer holdings to your kids account.

Steps to gift securities to the minor’s demat account

Log in to your zerodha account on kite.
Tap on holdings.
Click on options respective to the holdings that you want to be gifted.
Tap on the “send as a gift” option.
Now, enter the recipient’s name, e-mail, mobile number, and gift message (optional).
Click on Continue and select the securities for gifting.
Enter the quantity or number of shares and click on confirm & send.
Zerodha will send an email and SMS notification within 7 days to the recipient to accept the gifts.
Once the recipient or minor accepts the gift, you will receive an email and SMS notification to confirm recipient’s identity and enter CDSL TPIN to transfer shares to the minor child demat account.
