Any person who has foreign citizenship (except countries including Pakistan and Bangladesh) will be considered as Person of Indian Origin (PIO), if

  • He has an Indian passport at any time.
  • If he/she or either of his parents or grandparents were Indian citizen by the Constitution of India or under the Citizenship Act 1955.
  • If he/she is the spouse of an Indian citizen.
