Can I open a minor account in Zerodha?

Yes, you can open a Minor Demat account in Zerodha for your child. It will be a Demat account only, with no trading account. This means you can not buy or sell the stocks directly in the Minor account. The guardian attached to the Minor account has to buy and sell in his trading account and transfer them in and out to the Minor's Demat account.

Once the Minor attains 18 years of age, his account will be converted to an Individual account and he can do trading as usual.
