Saraswati Saree Depot Limited was founded in March 2021. The company is also engaged in wholesale of other women’s apparel like kurtis, dress fabrics, blouses, lehengas, bottoms etc. The sarees are sourced from various manufacturers across India. Over the years, the company has established relationships with these manufacturers in centres like Surat, Varanasi, Mau, Madurai, Dharmavaram, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
The demand for sarees in India has increased in recent years due to the growth of the wedding and festive wear market. However, the industry has seen a change in the buying behaviour of consumers who are looking for quality and high-end products. The change in buying behaviour has resulted in sellers selling more high priced sarees than low-priced sarees.
The company regularly sources sarees and other women’s wear from more than 900 weavers/suppliers in different states of India. Currently, their product catalogue includes more than 300,000 different items, they have served more than 15,000 customers and their product catalogue consists of more than 3,00,000 different items.
