Udaipur Cement Works Limited was established in the year 1993. The Company manufactures cement and clinker at its integrated cement plant in Udaipur, Rajasthan ("Udaipur Manufacturing Plant"), which has an installed production capacity of 1.50 million tonnes per annum ("MTPA") of clinker and 2.20 MTPA of cement powder.
The Company manufactures two types of cement - (a) OPC, which is marketed and sold under the 'Platinum Heavy Duty Cement' brand, and (b) PPC, its premium cement, which is also marketed and sold under the 'Platinum Heavy Duty Cement' brand. In addition to supplying cement through their dealer network to retail customers ("commercial customers"), they also market and sell cement directly from their warehouses to institutional customers and wholesalers (whom they refer to as "non-commercial customers"). They had an extensive distribution network with 56 depots and 453 distributors.
