Franklin Industries Limited was founded on February 8, 1983. The company deals in agricultural commodities like wheat, rice, maize, vegetables like peppers, tomatoes etc., fruits like mango, watermelon, grapes and other agricultural products. The company is also engaged in contract manufacturing of agricultural products such as cucumbers, onions and castor beans.
The company buys the agricultural products from the growers against advance payment or in compliance with the agreed conditions and then sells them to its network of distributors. Thank you to its market presence, the company has built up close relationships with farmers, wholesalers and retailers.
For contract manufacturing, the company leases agricultural land and grows cucumbers, onions and castor beans to meet market demand. This gives the company control over the entire process and allows it to buy the agricultural produce at lower prices than on the market. Part of the yield is shared with the farmers who cultivate the leased land on a contractual basis, which benefits local agriculture. The company discontinued its jewellery business, i.e. trading in gold and silver jewellery, last year
